Co-op Buddies For Life Battlestations

The room is actually square-ish, but looks long in this picture because it's a pano shot. :0)

Hi! Recently, my husband and I tweeted our setup while playing Destiny & Shadow of Mordor. After many comments, retweets, and requests we have decided to share with y'all our full setup. Hope this answers any questions!

GAME ROOM DETAILS

Clifford's controller station at his end of the couch.

Lauren's controller station at her end of the couch.

Space invader custom carpets! (Cough cough, I mean space alien for legal purposes.)

Random trinkets, statues, old gaming consoles, games and what not. A few extra seats for reading magazines, drinking a refreshing BAWLS, or for friends to chill on.

LEFT: Clifford loved this artwork because it brings back great memories of when he was a child playing games.

RIGHT: Lauren kept every single badge from all the conventions/tourneys that she ever attended! (And a few of Clifford's too.)

More nerdy and fun artwork displayed near the convention badges.

Clifford acquired this at an iam8bit art show. [Artist is: Jose Emorca Flores] [Piece called: The Kingdom of Crash]

(This is displayed right outside the game room, in the hallway... it takes up an entire wall! It's HUGE!)

Clifford's old game notes! Frame and displayed proudly!
LEFT: Dare to Dream
RIGHT: Jazz Jackrabbit

Clifford made it into Nintendo Power's first addition when he got best score in Mario.

LEFT: We won a 2 of a kind Master Sword (made by Nintendo and used in a Zelda commercial) at a child charity event auction Nite2Unite.

RIGHT: Clifford's Dr. Grordbort's weapons he acquired at various Comic Cons.

(These are right outside the game room, in the hallway.)

TOP: Lauren's 1 of a kind pink lancer made by Triforce and given to her by Clifford for her birthday at Comic Con.

BOTTOM: Lauren's M-8 avenger assault rifle from Mass Effect Series!

(These are right outside the game room, in the hallway.)

THE GAMING SETUP

We have a curved couch so you can either enjoy sitting next to each other while the TVs are side by side, or have the option to sit on the ends while the TVs are in the anti screen-looking state. (Keep reading.)

Worried about screen-looking? Well don't. We already thought of that issue and mounted the TVs on wall arms that allow the TVs to rotate outward at a 45 degree angle. The arms need a little adjusting we know haha!

How do we play at the same time with audio? We have surround sound room speakers installed... but both TVs also have Astro Gaming's wireless A50 headsets. We usually play with Clifford using the room speakers and Lauren with her headset on.

When putting together the room, we wanted the option to play old consoles too... since sometimes the emulators aren't the quite same without the old controllers or the new consoles just don't have the older titles we want to play.

We couldn't find a piece of furniture to display these the way we wanted to, so Lauren sketched it out on paper and sent it to a carpenter to build!

The design: holes on top to place the controllers through. When not in use we store the controllers in the draw directly below the console then open the draws and pull the controllers out when ya want to play! Then we wanted a spot for games. Put in sectional shelves and windows under the controllers so we can display/store games that go with each console. It's working out perfectly.

We wanted to be able to play any of the these systems on either TV with ease! The Control 4 system works great which allows us to switch them on and off, volume up or down, and choose the TV of choice. No need to ever unplug any wires or anything! It's ALL connected. Had professionals sort this out for us!

Where are all the newer generation consoles?! They are all stored in server racks in the corner of the room. 2 PS3s, 2 XB360s, 2 PS4s, 2 XB1s... His and hers! We also have directTV up here just in case we wanted to game while watching a football game or whatever.

EXTRA DETAILS

LEFT: We have a second couch in the back of the room that we use for hand held gaming. It also has a charging station for the 3DS, iPad and PSVITA.

RIGHT: Got to have a spot for the feet to rest on and blanket+hoodies in case we get a little chilly!

LEFT: Lauren plays bass from time to time. Her little amp setup is there next to second couch.

RIGHT TOP: Minecraft torches! They light up and are battery operated for now. Eventually they will be wired in with the lights switches.

LEFT BOTTOM: An awesome loot crate signed by the entire team from Gearbox who made Borderlands! <3

But where is the Wii/WiiU, Skylanders, and Kinect you ask?
We have them in the main living room which has more space to go wild in.

We spend a lot of time in these rooms and wanted them to be something special for us. It's almost like our little bunkers that we use to get away from the RL world to enter a video game's one. Best part is, we get to game side by side! <3 Hope y'all enjoyed our little tour! Maybe one day we may get around to live streaming together.
