Scary movies are good. Scary games are even better in my opinion.

You've got to imagine this scene, so close your eyes and think about it. A nice flat panel LCD, 5.1 Digital Dolby, a dark spooky room, and the latest Resident Evil ready to hop into the PS3 and scare the crap out of you. Okay, got that in your head? Well it didn't happen, but it sounds cool huh? The reality is I've been playing Rez5 in the living room, lights on, dog barking, and numerous other distractions. It looks good, really good and even in the current setting provides some good scary moments. I'm not far into it yet but so far I'm happy with the game play, fun, and scare factor. The characters look really good and there is plenty of blood and gore to share with your friends, if you have any :-P. Speaking of sharing, co-op play is fun, really fun. The controls don't suck and you get a nice feeling of exploration.

One of the things that has always irritated me with these games is the lack of AMMO. You seem to be always needing AMMO. AMMO ROCKS. NO AMMO SUCKS. And I don't know about you but that is one large ass knife. Why does it take one thousand three hundred and forty two slashes to drop a zombie when a couple of NON EXISTENT BULLETS do the trick. With the complaints about ammo I'm still having a great time with the game.

The story is good so far, and there is yet another twist on zombie creation but it works pretty good. Watching one of the creatures worm its way into someone's head is kinda creepy. Head shots rule! The online stuff looks kind of interesting although PSN is still a bit of a pain. I wish they'd make it a subscription service so it could be awesome but it's improving I guess. There's an online leader-board and you can set your game up so other people can jump in or you can invite friends. I wish the dang bosses were more of a challenge.. they seem so short and easy-peasy compared to some other games (like Metal Gear Solids)! If I could change one thing about this game, it would be to allow me to switch my weapons and reload faster! I don't like the feeling of a zombie attacking me from behind and BAM I'm out of ammo and have to switch my weapons. It seems it's tough to turn around and switch weapons at the same time since the switch between them is super slow.

Overall Rez5 is a good solid game so far, and I'm looking forward to finishing it.
